Jeil Trading announced that it showcased new dried salt de-icing technology at the "2025 Korea International Construction Safety Expo," held from September 17 to 19 at KINTEX in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province. The expo, sponsored by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the Ministry of Employment and Labor and hosted by Gyeonggi Province, is Korea's largest construction safety exhibition with over 560 participating companies.

The new dried salt de-icing agent has its moisture content reduced to 0.8% or below through a high-temperature drying process. The drying process minimizes impurities and ensures a uniform particle size of 2–6mm, significantly improving spreading efficiency. By drying the salt at high temperatures reaching 300°C, the product resists quality deterioration during long-term storage and delivers an immediate ice-melting effect right after snowfall.

According to Jeil Trading, the product is particularly effective at preventing black ice. Ordinary salt retains moisture and can cause refreezing after application, whereas dried salt has virtually no absorbed moisture, reducing the likelihood of ice reformation. This is a critical factor in winter accident prevention, enhancing safety at high-risk locations such as bridge and tunnel approaches and shaded road sections.

In terms of environmental advantages, the dried salt incorporates dust suppression technology to reduce fine particulate matter generated during application, and high-strength packaging materials ensure stable quality is maintained throughout long-term storage and transportation. The company explained that public agency officials must simultaneously consider worker safety, logistics efficiency, and budget rationality when using de-icing agents, and that dried salt is an alternative capable of satisfying all three requirements.

A Jeil Trading representative stated, "Through this technology, we plan to reduce the domestic de-icing agent market's dependence on imports and secure a stable in-house supply chain. The dried salt de-icing agent combines technological differentiation with economic viability, and we expect it to enable more stable and efficient road management at de-icing work sites operated by local governments and public institutions."
