Jeil Trading announced that it is participating in the "2025 Korea Construction & Safety Expo," held from the 17th to the 19th at Exhibition Hall 4 of KINTEX Hall 1 in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, where it is showcasing the "Ton-Bag Safety Cutter (TS-06, TS-08)" — a device designed to simultaneously secure safety and efficiency in winter de-icing operations. The expo is sponsored by major government and local authorities including the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, the Ministry of Employment and Labor, and Gyeonggi Province, and is Korea's largest specialized construction safety exhibition with over 560 participating companies.
The Ton-Bag Safety Cutter is an attachment for excavators (Class 06 and Class 08) that automatically lifts, cuts open, and feeds ton-bags, with an electric controller operable directly from the operator's cab.
According to Jeil Trading, the product's key strengths include: speed, with the full process of lifting, cutting, and feeding a one-ton bag into a spreader completed in an average of under 30 seconds, and the cutting process itself taking less than 10 seconds; safety and versatility, with stainless steel cutting blades and hydraulic cylinder adjustment enabling compatibility with ton-bags of various heights and sizes, and easy attachment and detachment from excavator clamping devices making it usable on rental equipment as well; and improved working conditions, including reduced hazard exposure during night and early-morning operations and minimization of airborne dust and falling debris.
A Jeil Trading representative explained, "At winter de-icing sites, ton-bag packaged de-icing agents are typically fed into spreaders by workers manually cutting them open with sickles or simple blade attachments. This method carries persistent risks of entrapment, falls, and contact with scattered materials during the cutting process, and causes various problems including musculoskeletal disorders from repetitive strenuous work and worker injuries. Furthermore, in the event of an unexpected accident, the commissioning agency may become subject to the Serious Accident Punishment Act, and the need for new safety measures is growing among local governments and public institutions."
The representative added, "From the perspective of public agencies, the Ton-Bag Safety Cutter eliminates workers' direct involvement in the cutting process entirely, reducing the risk of inadequate safety measures under the Serious Accident Punishment Act. It also enables reductions in labor costs and equipment operating costs through fewer workers and shorter operation times, and can be expected to improve safety management records for commissioning agencies while securing safety-related bonus points in procurement and bidding processes. It also enables rapid de-icing response in extreme cold and late-night working conditions. The Ton-Bag Safety Cutter can serve as a practical safety solution that local governments and public institutions genuinely need amid changes in laws and regulations. At this expo, we have prepared actual demonstration footage so visitors can see the equipment's operating speed and efficiency firsthand."
